Viking Mjolnir Thor Hammer Pendant with Triquetra and Spiral Design
The Viking word Mjölnir means "Crusher" and was the name of the magical hammer wielded by Thor, the son of Odin. While this pendant pays homage to that mighty hammer in form, we also designed it with a wealth of other symbolism and meaning. The front of the pendant features a Triquetra symbol, which was important to many cultures. The meaning of the Triquetra often varied and changed over time. In most cases, the Triquetra is considered a symbol of the forces of nature, and the three-fold nature of Life, Death, and the After-Life. The Spiral design on the back of the pendant also relates to this, as spirals usually symbolized a connection to the gods and the energy of the cosmos. Spirals can also represent journey, direction, and progress. Above these symbols, at the top of the pendant on both sides, are the twin circles which tie the symbolism all together, representing the eyes of the gods, which are always watching. We're currently offering this article of jewelry in your choice of Silvered Bronze, Bronze, or solid Sterling Silver. A genuine leather neck cord is also included.
