Small Viking Thor's Hammer Mjolnir Pendant with Triquetra

The Viking word Mjölnir means "Crusher", and was the name of the magical hammer wielded by Thor, the son of Odin. This double-sided pendant pays homage to that mighty hammer, and has a Triquetra or Trinity Knot on the hammer's head. The Triquetra or Trinity Knot symbol was later adopted by other cultures and religions, and its meaning and symbolism grew and changed somewhat over time. The Celts believed the most important things came in threes: the three domains (earth, sea, and sky), the three elements, and the three stages of life. Wiccans and Pagans consider the Trinity Knot to be a symbol of the forces of nature, and the three-fold nature of Goddess as mother, maiden, and crone. Christians believe it to representative of the Holy Trinity of Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. But overall, the Triquetra or Trinity Knot often symbolizes eternal love, longevity, and the continuous cycle of life. Regardless of the meaning, we designed and made this pendant so it could be worn with any attire, be it historic or contemporary.
