Ravens have always been prominent in Norse mythology. The god Odin, in particular, used two ravens named Hugin and Munin (or Thought and Memory) as scouts, spies, and messengers. The raven is also considered the sigil of famed Viking Ragnar Lothbrok, popularized by the History Channel series VIKINGS.
