Viking Cross Brooch in Solid Bronze - Borre Art Style Pin
Paying homage to the Viking "Borre" art style of the 9th and 10th Century, this beautiful Viking brooch is designed to resemble a Christian cross. This bridging of Norse and Christian themes became more common as Christians tried to entice Viking/Norse people into their belief system. So for a period of time, there were many items of jewelry and fashion which portrayed a melding of both Norse and Christian symbols.
We made this brooch entirely of fine bronze, and it has a heavy bronze pin along the back for easy wearing. Great for pinning to a hat, scarf, jacket, or accenting any historic or contemporary attire.
