Round Wooden Aztec/Mayan Mask Shield
This beautiful hand-painted wooden shield features a design inspired by traditional Aztec and Mayan carvings and artwork. The design has been painted in black over a white-fade background, using only the highest quality paints and pigments. Dual leather straps are used to secure the arm along the back—one going over the forearm and one intended to be gripped or held. The shield is made out of a 1/2 inch thick smooth composite wood which is considerably stronger than plywood. The front of the shield has also been applied with several coats of satin topcoat/varnish to protect it through the years. It measures about 25 inches in diameter—more than enough to cover your arm way past the elbow. Whether for the wall or the battlefield, this shield is well balanced and ready to serve.
