Viking Bear Head Berserker Neck Torc - Made of Fine Bronze
This handmade Viking Bear Head Torc is a beautiful and stylish neck accessory that has been crafted of fine Bronze, making it strong, durable, and historically accurate. Neck Torcs such as this were worn by many cultures and peoples throughout history. Oftentimes they were made to be worn and almost never taken off. They were also sometimes worn to identify people by trade, military rank, or those of nobility. These neck torcs are crafted using old-world techniques, and the high level of skill necessary for making them is visible when seeing them firsthand. Because these are made exactly like those from over a thousand years ago, you simply cannot beat this level of quality. We have several sizes available right now. To determine which size works best for you, use a flexible tape measure to measure around the base of your neck. Please note: The measurements below are a general guide. If you're in between sizes, you may want to play it safe and consider ordering the larger size. If the torc is a little large on you, it will still look great.

In fact, some Viking warriors known as Berserkers were synonymous with bears not only because of their frenzied and unstoppable fighting style, but because they would fight bare-chested and without armor in battle. That's why the word "Berserker" actually means "bear-shirt" in the Old Norse language. We try to capture some of the power and majesty of the bear with this Viking neck torc. This style of necklace is inspired by jewelry found on the isle of Gotland (Sweden) and from dig sites in Iceland. But the origins of torc worn around the neck like this goes back more than 2000 years. The torc can be adjusted and can be opened and closed by carefully bending it. Please note, in order to reduce weight and conserve bronze, there is a slightly hollowed out portion underneath the neck of the bear, which is barely (bearly) noticeable, and not seen at all when wearing.
