Round Greek Sailing Ship Shield with Wave Border Pattern

This beautiful wooden shield features a design inspired by actual ancient Greek artwork that once decorated shields and pottery. This shield has been completely hand-painted using only the finest artist-grade paints. It is made out of a 1/2" thick smooth composite wood (which is considerably stronger and more durable than plywood). Dual leather straps have been attached to the back for comfortably holding the shield. One leather strap goes over the forearm and the other is intended to be gripped or held. The shield has also been applied with several coats of varnish to further protect and preserve it from wear. The shield measures a very large 31 inches in diameter.
