Viking Valknut Symbol Pendant

The triangular Viking symbol known as the Valknut (pronounced "VAL-knoot") is one of the most popular yet enigmatic symbols that appear in connection with Norse mythology. The word Valknut is a more modern Norwegian term that means "knot of those fallen in battle." It is most widely recognized as a prominent symbol adorning the 7th Century Tangelgarda stone on the island of Gotland, Sweden. While the true meaning of the Valknut is not fully known, historian H.R. Ellis Davidson describes the Valknut as a symbol relating to the power of the god Odin and his ability to lay bonds on the mind, thereby rendering men either helpless or crazed and fearless in battle. This Viking Valknut pendant is made of pewter, and measures 2.2 cm or 1.1 inches in height. A leather cord is included with the pendant.
