Large Celtic Dogs Brooch or Cloak Pin

This large Celtic Dog Brooch is based on classic Celtic artwork of old. To the Celts (and to most contemporary cultures), dogs represent Loyalty. The dog symbolizes the companionship felt between human and animal. They were also considered to be good luck and a harbinger of good health, and because of this, symbols of dogs were worked into a wide array of Celtic decor, including dishware, home furnishings, jewelry, and clothing.

This wonderful handmade brooch pays homage to the dog and all they represented. It measures about 2.25 inches across, and is made of finely polished silver pewter. The pin attached to the back is also custom made, and is extra heavy, very strong and guaranteed to not break.
