Twin Dolphin Shield with Airbrushed Background

This handpainted wooden shield features a twin Dolphin design inspired by ancient Greek artwork which once decorated shields and pottery. The background of this shield has been airbrushed with a beautiful watery blue-green fade. The shield is made out of a 1/2 inch thick smooth composite wood which is considerably stronger than plywood. Dual leather straps are used to secure the arm along the back. The painted surface of the shield has also been applied with several coats of varnish to protect it from wear. The shield measures about 25 inches in diameter—more than enough to cover your arm way past the elbow.

Although the design is Greek-inspired, it could really go great with any type of Celtic or coastal/island outfit. Or would be perfect for that upcoming Renaissance Festival in your area. Trust me, pictures can't do this wonderful shield justice, or show the time that I put into building it. Would also make a great gift for that Renaissance-enthusiast you know!
