Paying homage to Nature, our hand-forged Penannular Leaf Brooch or Cloak Pin was made from a single rod of steel. It was made the old-fashioned way, with fire, hammer, anvil, and a pair of tongs. This extremely strong brooch can be worn several different ways depending on the style/look you are going for. Brooches similar to this were initially developed from the Roman clasp or fibula. In the severe climate of northern Europe, the brooch became the typical ornament of the era because it normally functioned as a fastening for a heavy tunic or cloak. This particular brooch is masterfully made with leaves and curls to create an elegant and striking look. Perfect for re-enactments, costumes, Renaissance Festivals, or just everyday wear.
